How do I refinish an old circular wood picnic table and benches?
This picnic table is unfinished and has weathered for many years outside, but it's still in good condition so I'd like to restore it. The wood is very rough, and will probably need to be sanded (unless there's an easier way to smooth it out). It's never been painted, it's just been left to age naturally (lots of moss growing on it). The benches are still in good condition also. After I finish working on it, I'd like to put something on it to better protect it from rain, etc. I've never done this before, but I'm up for the challenge!

If it's been in the weather a long time it will be hard to get it back to it's natural beauty. However, you could start with some coarse sand paper and then gradually go to fine. It will be a lot of work!
The easiest and neatest thing to do is to find a bright exterior paint to put on it. That would make it look a lot better and it would be easier to do.

you need to sand it downreal good ,then put 4or 5 coatsof poly urithane [exterior grade] on it . it will last quite a few tears before needing it again. the glass man
